Working under that premise, Hollywood-based Warriors Boxing will have more than a year of pro cards, including Saturday night’s Throwdown At The Creek Backyard Brawl Series, under its belt when the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood holds its grand opening in March 2004 with boxing as its flagship sport in a 6,000-seat arena.
Tucked into a strip mall on State Road 441 across from the soon-to-be-bulldozed old Seminole Casino and new 500-room hotel and casino, Warriors boxing adviser Chris Lawrence and boxing director Jessie Robinson are following guidelines they set when the gym was built in 1998 and the pro and amateur boxing program started three years ago with a handful of fighters.
